Kayra helps schools strengthen student leadership, belonging, and culturally responsive programs, with particular attention to the experiences of students of color.
We work with staff, students, and families to understand existing programs, identify strengths and gaps, and build structures that support meaningful student participation.
How We Support School Communities
-
Student Voice & Leadership: Strengthen opportunities for students to shape programs, share responsibility, and contribute to their school community.
-
Culturally Responsive Support: Help staff develop restorative practices and meeting structures that respect students’ identities and developmental needs.
-
Family & Community Connections: Build outreach and participation that bring family and community perspectives into student support.
Ways to Work Together
Student Program Review & Recommendations
Review existing student programs—their purpose, leadership, daily operation, and connections to academic and behavioral support. Receive findings and practical recommendations to strengthen current programs and identify culturally responsive opportunities.
Student Support Structures & Staff Learning
Includes the program review, plus collaborative development of a structure for tracking student needs, coordinating support, and involving families. Staff workshops focus on restorative practices and culturally responsive meeting structures tailored to the grade levels served.
Yearlong Student Equity & Community Partnership
Includes the review, support structures, and staff learning, plus yearlong implementation support and progress tracking. We help schools develop equity-focused programs supporting students of color, organize family and community outreach, and provide two parent workshops connected to participating students’ needs and experiences.
